Meet "The Ferraro Family"

Karen Ainslie

Karen has worked at Joseph Ferraro Hair since the beginning and is responsible for ensuring the busy salon operates like clockwork.

A trained hairdresser with 16 years of experience, Karen was responsible for training junior members of staff for many years, which is why she is so much more than just a salon manager.

As the face of JFH, Karen is the first person clients speak to when arriving at the salon. With a welcoming smile, she immediately puts guests at ease, ensuring they are looked after and enjoying their Joseph Ferraro Hair experience to the full.

As well as managing the busy reception, it is Karen’s responsibility to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the salon – a role that ensures no two days are the same and there is never a dull moment!

Rita Tuska

A valued member of the Joseph Ferraro Art Team, Rita has been involved with various photographic shoots throughout the UK and recently worked behind the scenes as a session artist at London Fashion Week.

In 2017, she was awarded UK Gold in the Creative Vision category at the Wella Professionals TrendVision Awards – one of the world’s most prestigious annual hairdressing competitions.

In 2021 she decided to compete again, this time entering the Editorial Look category, gaining a further UK Gold. As winner, she went on to represent the country in the TrendVision International Final, securing a coveted third Gold medal and beating over 5,000 entries from 28 countries.

When not in the salon, Rita loves spending time outdoors and can often be found donning a pair of trainers to go on one of her legendary cross-country runs, packing for an impromptu camping expedition or spending time with Nancy, her beloved cockapoo.

Reina Boddy

Reina began her hairdressing career with leading hair salon group Saks. Excited by both the prospects of working with a broader range of clients and the potential to work as a session stylist, she joined JFH in 2015 and is now an integral member of the JFH Art Team.

A regular backstage at London Fashion Week, Reina has worked as a stylist to the models on a number of catwalk shows including Fashions Finest UK (2017) and luxury London based brand, Aadnevik (2020).

In 2021, Reina was invited to become a member of the esteemed PROJECT: X Team. Co-ordinated by The Fellowship for British Hairdressing, PROJECT: X has been described as “the ultimate hairdressing finishing school” and attracts a broad and experienced calibre of participants from Fellowship member salons. The team get to train with some of the best hairdressers in the industry, receiving coaching on a wide range of industry topics.

Martina Stanton

Martina's career in hairdressing started young—at just 15 years old—leading her to qualify with a Distinction in 2009.

​After twelve dedicated years honing her skills at a leading salon franchise, Martina brought her expertise to the Joseph Ferraro team in 2018. She is renowned as an exceptional cutter and stylist, equally skilled at creating looks for both male and female clients. Her continuous growth includes in-salon training as a colourist.

​In a commitment to holistic styling, Martina has recently specialized further. Since September 2025, she is qualified to provide bespoke services in wig fitting and men's hair replacement systems. Martina combines her meticulous technique with a deep understanding of client needs to ensure beautiful, seamless results in all areas of her work.

Lauren Hewitt‐Dawson

Senior-stylist Lauren Hewitt-Dawson combines her three loves in life – family, horses and hairdressing.

Having trained as a hairdresser in York, Lauren went on to work in a busy salon in Wetherby before moving to work with the team at Joseph Ferraro Hair in 2011.

A highly experienced stylist, Lauren has great cutting and colouring skills, excelling at both classic and creative hairdressing. A devoted team member, she enjoys the opportunities and experiences offered by working in a busy, cutting-edge salon.

Always keen to keep up-to-date with current trends and techniques, Lauren is inspired by the JFH education programme and has enjoyed workshops and training sessions with some of the leading hairdressers in the industry, including Bruno Marc Giamattei and Sean Dawson.

When not working, Lauren can be found spending time with her young family or on her horse, either training and breaking or taking part in riding competitions across the UK. An outdoor enthusiast, she also enjoys the occasional snowboarding holiday and charity mud run!

Anna Dalby

Anna has dedicated her working life to the world of hairdressing.

She originally started training at the age of 15, completing her apprenticeship with the national hairdressing chain Toni & Guy. Whilst working for the company she continued to hone her skills, becoming a specialist in cutting hair for both men and women. During this time, she also had the incredible opportunity to work backstage at Milan Fashion Week—an experience that sharpened her eye for detail and fueled her passion for creative, high-end styling.

After leaving T&G, Anna opted to stay in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate, working with two other local salons and completing a ‘Balayage Specialist’ course before joining the team at JFH.

Outside salon life, Anna can most regularly be found reclining on a sunbed with a good book! Her love of tropical holidays has so far taken her to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, the Maldives and most recently Mauritius.

Allegedly, it’s not all about lazing the days away on a tropical beach, however. When the desire strikes, she has also been known to swap flip-flops for fins, taking to the azure seas for a little snorkelling or scuba diving.

Dan Caines

Dan began his journey at Joseph Ferraro Hair as a young apprentice and has spent the past 10 years growing into a talented and highly regarded stylist. His passion for hairdressing shines through in every client he works with, driven by a genuine desire to make people feel their absolute best.

Known for his creativity and precision, Dan’s work blends technical skill with an eye for effortless, lived-in beauty. His career has also taken him beyond the salon chair — styling backstage at Milan, London, and Paris Fashion Weeks, where he’s collaborated with leading industry names and gained inspiration from global trends.

Constantly evolving and inspired by fashion, Dan brings a fresh, modern approach to hair that reflects both his experience and his love for the craft.

Jessica Gibbs

The latest edition to the styling team, Jess joined JFH as an apprentice in May 2019.

A trained dancer, she was originally destined for a life on stage, trapping the boards in Disneyland, America and Mallorca and also forming part of the World Dance Championship team in Llangollen, Wales.

Unfortunately, injury halted Jess’s flourishing career so she took some time out and headed off to New Zealand to rethink her plans – travelling the island in a 92 Toyota Corolla and sleeping in a festival tent for 3 months!

The time away gave her a fresh perspective and she returned with a new plan that would embody her boundless creativity. The loss to the dance world became the gain to the hairdressing community.

Jess qualified as a Stylist in September 2021 with a well-earned Distinction.

Charlotte Weller

Apprentice Stylist

Charlotte is a dedicated Apprentice Stylist with three years’ experience in hairdressing. Having always enjoyed doing friends’ and family members’ hair, she decided to turn her passion into a career and hasn’t looked back since.

Her current hair obsession is effortless beach waves, and her go-to product in the salon is Colour Wow Dream Coat Spray, which she loves for creating smooth, polished finishes. On a bad hair day, Charlotte keeps it simple with a sleek, slicked-back ponytail.

Charlotte loves being part of the Joseph Ferraro Hair team, appreciating the supportive atmosphere and strong sense of teamwork throughout the salon. She’s currently developing her skills in balayage and enjoys learning and growing alongside the rest of the team.

Outside of the salon, Charlotte enjoys going to the gym and spending time with friends.

Sara Jashari

Apprentice Stylist

Sara is a dedicated Apprentice Stylist who has been training in hairdressing for around a year, combining college studies with hands-on experience in the salon. With a natural passion for all things beauty and creative, she loves being able to help clients feel confident and happy — knowing just how much great hair can transform how you feel.

Currently, Sara is obsessed with perfecting sleek, bouncy blowdries, focusing on creating smooth, voluminous finishes that leave hair looking healthy and full of shine.

Her must-have products are leave-in serums and oils, which she considers essential for maintaining smoothness, shine and overall hair health. On a bad hair day, she’s all about a slick bun — confidently pretending it was the plan all along!

Sara loves the supportive and motivating environment at Joseph Ferraro Hair, where the team continually encourages one another to grow and improve. She’s currently developing her cutting skills while continuing to refine her blowdry techniques and overall confidence in the salon. Outside of work, Sara enjoys going to the gym, spending time with friends and family, keeping up with beauty and fashion trends, and anything self-care related. A fun fact about Sara? She practises blowdries on pretty much anyone who’ll let her.

Claudia Pearson

Claudia is a passionate and creative Apprentice Stylist who has been part of the Joseph Ferraro Hair family for a year and a half. With two years’ experience specialising in hair extensions, she loves using hairdressing as a way to express her creativity while making clients feel confident and happy.

Currently obsessed with rich cherry cola tones and the return of iconic 90s blowdries, Claudia takes inspiration from trends seen across TikTok and Instagram, bringing a modern edge to her work in the salon.

Her must-have products include Colour Wow Money Mist and Authentic Beauty Concept Cosmic Blowdry Jelly, and on a bad hair day she opts for a sleek bun or a half-up, half-down style — usually with a mask thrown in for good measure!

Claudia loves the close-knit, supportive atmosphere at Joseph Ferraro Hair and enjoys learning from different stylists, particularly developing her colouring techniques and building her cutting skills, with a focus on mastering layered shapes.

Outside of the salon, she’s a big sports fan, regularly heading to rugby and football matches and spending time with her family.

Lily Hollowed

Lily has only ever seen herself working in the hair industry ever since she was young.

Loving the environment and team at Joseph Ferraro Hair Lily is loving progressing her skills especially with short / layered haircuts and styles.

Away from work Lily loves going to dance rehearsals and spending time with her friends and family.

Lara Bentley

I discovered my passion for hair at just 17 and have loved the industry ever since. My favourite services are styling—whether it’s creating a big, bouncy blow-dry or a simple set of soft curls. I also love working on reverse balayage and helping clients achieve a complete transformation, especially when they’re ready for a bold, confidence-boosting change. Outside of the salon, I enjoy going to the gym, getting out for walks (especially when the weather’s on my side!), and spending quality time with friends and family.

Laura Healey

Laura has been an integral part of the Joseph Ferraro Hair team for seven years, supporting the day-to-day running of the salon through her role in reception and general salon operations. Organised, reliable and always approachable, she plays a key role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Currently loving a wavy bob, Laura’s must-have product is Colour Wow Style on Steroids, perfect for creating texture and movement. On a bad hair day, she relies on plenty of dry shampoo to save the day.

Laura loves working at Joseph Ferraro Hair because of the strong team spirit and mutual respect shared throughout the salon, making it a positive and supportive place to work.

Outside of the salon, Laura enjoys keeping active with exercise and strength training, long walks, skiing trips and unwinding with a good book. A fun fact about Laura? Despite being super organised, she still spends far too long choosing what to watch on Netflix.
